WHO WILL PREPARE MY DOCUMENTS FOR RECORDING?

The recorder’s office does not prepare real estate documents.  It is the submitter’s responsibility to prepare your document correctly.  The Recorder's Office will not change or alter any documents.

 

 

HOW IS PROPERTY OWNERSHIP CONVEYED FROM ONE PARTY TO ANOTHER?

In order to change ownership, a new deed will need to be prepared.  Please consult with a title company or attorney regarding changes to your property deed, beneficiary deeds, estate planning, etc.

 

 

I MADE A CHANGE TO THE DOCUMENT AND NEED TO RECORD IT AGAIN.  CAN DOCUMENTS BE RE-RECORDED?

You must have a new cover page with correct margins and first page requirements.  State on the first page the reason for re-recording, recorded date and book/page number of the document being corrected.

 

 

WHAT IS YOUR DOCUMENT TURN AROUND TIME?

Our office has same day to 24 hour turnaround of real estate recordings excluding holidays and weekends.

 

 

WHERE IS MY RELEASE DEED?  THE LOAN COMPANY SAID THEY SENT IT FOR RECORDING?

Usually we are directed by the submitter to return the documents to them or their servicing company. We can provide you with a copy of the recorded release.

 

 

IS THERE A JUDGE THAT CAN MARRY US?

In Johnson County the judges does not marry couples. You will have to find a church, organization, or someone that is ordained and in good standing with the state of Missouri.

 

 

DO I HAVE TO REGISTER WITH THE RECORDERS OFFICE TO MARRY SOMEONE?

No, you do not need to register with our office.

 

 

HOW CAN I OBTAIN A COPY OF A DOCUMENT?

Documents can be received by either coming into the office, writing in a request for one, or paying over the phone with a card (convenience fees apply).
